Hey ya'll! I’m India Calhoun — the proud Founder and Artistic Director of SingSmart Studios! I am a proud Gospel and Neo-Soul artist from Metro Atlanta, now based in the DMV.

My musical journey began in the church, where I first discovered the power of music and community. I grew up performing with gospel groups across Atlanta and training in studios that taught me discipline, passion, and a deep sense of belonging. Those early spaces shaped me profoundly — and planted the dream of creating a home for other young artists just as hungry, gifted, and full of heart.

That dream carried me to Berklee College of Music, where I refined my artistry, expanded my creative voice, and stepped confidently into my identity as a storyteller through song. I later continued my education at Shenandoah University, earning my Master’s in Vocal Pedagogy to better understand the science and mechanics behind healthy, sustainable singing.

Along the way, I discovered one of my greatest joys: teaching. There is nothing more fulfilling than helping students uncover their potential, grow in confidence, and blossom into the artists they were meant to be.

Today, that passion lives on through SingSmart Studios — a space for kids and creatives who are talented, curious, and ready to grow. Here, we don’t just teach performing arts; we build confidence, cultivate artistry, and nurture purpose.
